Wednesday 6/27-Thursday 6/28/12
Everyone gathered at Spokane International this morning to
get going on what will proof to be one of the longest days of our lives. Tears
were shed; everyone was excited and a bit anxious about what was to come…
I am writing this as I am sitting in the train to Stuttgart
which we almost missed, because they had moved the track on us, announcing it,
but there was no way for us to actually understand the announcements with all
the background noises of incoming and leaving trains going on around us. Thank
goodness we double checked with a conductor, and were told the train was
leaving on track 5 not track 6. In a few frantic minutes everyone had to change
tracks (up and down the stairs with a lot of luggage in the muggy heat of the Frankfurt airport which is a glass house without air
conditioning) within 2 minutes…we made it, though we were sweaty hot and
exhausted after this ordeal!
Now we have one more train to catch. Of course there is no
free internet so I will be posting this when we are already there, safe and
sound with our prospective hosts.
Thanks parents and family members for a fantastic good-bye:)
